Dana Gross Trio
May 18, 2013. 7-9pm
$10 at the door, beer & wine available
Drawing on the wealth of music stored in the hills of Appalachia and the Mississippi Delta, and based out of Portland, Maine, Dana Gross creates lyrical songs rich in earth imagery, heart, and struggle. Performing since the age of 12, Dana has refined his intention and ability, entertaining crowds across the country. Bringing the roots to life, and creating new shoots, D. Gross crafts modern music for the ages.
Performing with bassist Duane Edwards and drummer Jason Ingalls, Dana Gross and his trio will weave tales through the Americana tapestry, from the rusted rail lines to the boundless skylines.

The Portland Press Herald has this to say about D. Gross:
“There are two types of performers out there. There are the manufacturers, who calculate, create and present something that, according to their specifications, should work as an interesting piece of music. And while we’ve all fallen prey to this artifice at one point or another, the persona of one of these conjurers crumbles like an old cookie upon closer scrutiny. Not so with the other kind of performer who might be called a vessel, where raw emotion and creation spill out of some wellspring inside. These types can’t help themselves. Many Maine ears can tell just by feel that roots alt-country artist D. Gross lands squarely in the latter camp. Gross treasures his grandmother’s banjo, which he toted around the Carolina hills because he figured he might learn something there.”
