Where else in our community can a 5 year-old learn ballet in the same building where her grandfather can learn to paint with acrylics? Where else can a teenager practice his electric guitar while his mother learns to sketch with charcoal? Where else in town can you build your artistic portfolio and study singing, acting, and dancing with renowned artists, musicians and expert instructors? Beyond our classes, there are art exhibits to experience, movies to watch, concerts to hear, plays to attend. This is who we are. This is what we do—we are River Tree Arts.
After many months of experimentation and reflection, River Tree Arts, now in its twenty-sixth year, remains committed to bringing York County our distinct brand of quality creative arts programming and instruction to those of all ages, aptitudes and sensibilities.
The Board and I are energized and committed to execute and guide our revitalized vision which includes the addition of our first-ever School of Performing Arts and our integrated arts programs for children ages 3-5, Twigs. Our essential mission endures to infuse our community with a culture that nurtures and celebrates the life-affirming creation of music, art and performance.
We cannot do this work without you. River Tree has always thrived as a community—a community of artists both emerging and established; a community of curious, dedicated students; and a community of passionate arts patrons and donors who make it all possible. While our vision and commitment are strong, we are still building our foundation. We need the support of a vibrant and enthusiastic base of members who share our commitment. We need strong, generous funding to enable us to re-build and return to our singular role in the community.
In an attempt to be more efficient you may notice that we have combined our annual appeal and membership drive. By supporting us, with a gift of $50.00 or more you will automatically become a member of River Tree Arts. Membership’s privileges include opening and special event invitations, and discounted rates for classes and lessons.
We recognize that this is a difficult time. The cooperative spirit has always funded the arts; and the arts, in turn, add priceless dimension and cultural enrichment to life in our coastal village. Please join us; your generous contribution makes our contribution possible.
Sincerely,
Lucy Levenson
Executive Director
P.S. We’ve missed you. We hope you’ve missed us too. And we look forward to being connected once again.
