An introductory course in improvisational acting for students…

Do you or a teen you know have an interest in acting, improvisation, and/or comedy? Maybe you’re a fan of Whose Line is it Anyway?, Mock The week or the films of Christopher Guest. Learn the art of improvisational acting with instructor Samuel Kuykendall, leader of the infamous Yes & Co.

In this 8 week series of 2 hour classes students will learn the fundamentals of improvisation and how to use those skills on and off stage. Learn how staying present, listening, and saying “yes, and” can lead to fun, engaging and hilarious situations. Each week Samuel will have students focus on a different facet of improvisation, using game-play from day 1. Students will learn short-form, and long-form games with a little bit of music thrown in for good measure.

By the conclusion of the course, each student will possess the skills needed to improvise and collaborate with others more thoughtfully and confidently. The class will conclude with a performance for friends and family on the final class date.
