Available Instructor Positions

River Tree Arts is currently looking for a theater instructor to teach improv/acting/theater classes on Tuesday evenings. The instructor would teach basic acting principles to students in a group setting. The ideal candidate would be able to design a curriculum and create lesson plans appropriate for grades 3-5 and grades 6-8. The theater instructor would work closely with the Programming Coordinator to set up classes, ensure proper materials are provided, and occasionally send out communications to families as needed.
Candidate Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in musical theater, drama, and/or a similar field
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Some experience in teaching
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to create age appropriate projects/curriculum for elementary and middle school students
- Tuesday evening availability
Compensation
$30/hr, 3-4 hours per week. Ideal class times would be ~3:30-5pm; 5:30-7pm, but some flexibility is available as needed

River Tree Arts is currently looking for a guitar and piano instructor to join the music faculty in the Fall. The instructor(s) can expect to teach a variety of students, from kids to adults at various levels ranging from total beginners to students who have had a number of years taking lessons.
An ideal candidate would be able to teach both children and adults. They should also be comfortable with determining age/level appropriate curriculum to share with all students. Lessons take place in the afternoons and evenings—most lessons take place during the peak periods between 2:00 and 7:00pm—so availability at those prime times is essential.
Candidate Credentials:
- Bachelor’s in Music or Music Education
- Experience playing and teaching guitar
- Strong organizational, time management and communication skills
- Previous teaching experience
- Ability to teach appropriate curriculum for students of all levels
- Weekday afternoon and evening availability
Compensation
$36/hr, 3-6 hours per week

River Tree Arts is currently looking for a metalsmithing instructor to join us in the Fall. The instructor can expect to host at least two classes for kids and teenagers each week, with additional classes possible depending on demand and availability. An ideal candidate should be experienced in metalsmithing and the maintenance of metalsmithing equipment. They should also be comfortable with designing a curriculum for several different age groups ranging from 3rd grade to adult classes. The instructor would work with the Programming Coordinator to establish classes and summer camp programming throughout the year.
Candidate Credentials:
- Extensive knowledge of metalsmithing and metalsmithing materials and maintenance
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience in teaching
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for timely upkeep of the studio in conjunction with River
Tree staff - Ability to create age appropriate projects/curriculum for students of all levels
- Weekday afternoon and evening availability as most programming is held during these popular times.
Compensation
$30/hr, 4-5 hours per week
