This relaxed and engaging early release art workshop invites students to unwind and explore painting in a bold, expressive way. We begin with time to decompress from the school day—students will enjoy lunch, connect with friends, and settle in through gentle movement and creative warm-ups. Our main project, Paint Your Mood, encourages students to use watercolor as a tool for self-expression, relaxation and confidence! Inspired by expressionist approaches to art, students will explore how color, shape, and movement can communicate feelings rather than realistic images. Through guided prompts, students will experiment with vibrant color, loose brushwork, and abstract forms to create a painting that reflects their mood, energy, or imagination. This workshop emphasizes creativity, confidence, and process over perfection—supporting students in trusting their instincts and enjoying the act of making. Students who finish early will have the option to create beaded bracelets, offering a playful and tactile way to continue expressing their personal style. All materials are included.

In this creative and confidence-building early release workshop, students will explore the world of fashion illustration and personal style. We begin with time to decompress from the school day—students will enjoy lunch, relax with friends, and ease into the creative process with light movement and sketching warm-ups. The main project introduces students to fashion illustration, where they will learn how to draw stylized figures and design their own outfits. Using simple, age-appropriate techniques, students will explore proportion, pose, and how clothing can express personality, mood, and creativity. Students will experiment with color, pattern, and imaginative design—whether inspired by everyday fashion, fantasy, or their own unique ideas. The focus is on expression, confidence, and enjoying the creative process. After completing their designs, students can continue creating with a bracelet-making station, offering a tactile and playful way to extend their artistic exploration. All materials are included.
