In this 8 week series of 2 hour classes students will learn the fundamentals of improvisation and how to use those skills on and off stage. Learn how staying present, listening, and saying “yes, and” can lead to fun, engaging and hilarious situations. Each week Samuel will have students focus on a different facet of improvisation, using game-play from day 1. Students will learn short-form, and long-form games with a little bit of music thrown in for good measure.

By the conclusion of the course, each student will possess the skills needed to improvise and collaborate with others more thoughtfully and confidently. The class will conclude with a performance for friends and family on the final class date.

November 18 REGISTER HERE

A mandala is a circular design with a central point that is thought to represent the wholeness of the person who creates it. In nature, we are attracted to mandalas. Flowers and seashells, for example, can beautify our lives and bring a sense of peace. We often experience feelings of relaxation when coloring pre-designed mandalas so popular in coloring books. However, the meditative aspects of creating and coloring our own mandalas have been shown to reduce anxiety and stress, and promote feelings of well being through self discovery. This tends to have a more positive impact on both physical and mental health. In this class we will explore the significance of mandalas as we create our own. We’ll discover their meditative properties as we relax, de-stress and learn about ourselves through the colors, symbols, and patterns we choose. The creation of mandalas provides a window to ourselves that is not only revealing, but enjoyable. In this class, we will focus on the process of self-discovery through the meaningful communication between our inner and outer worlds. All materials provided.
