CLASSES FOR KIDS
KID CLASSES – Tuesdays
KIDS CERAMICS (Grades 3-5)Dates: (6 weeks) March 4 – April 8 (makeup date if RTA cancels class 4/15) When: Tuesdays, 3:45pm – 5:30pm Instructor: Satsi Schimelpfenig Cost: Members: $180; Non-members: $200 Ceramics class offers young artists in grades 3-5 the opportunity to explore their creativity while experiencing everything clay! Students will experiment with a variety of hand building techniques to create their masterpieces. All projects will be fired in the kiln and students will learn basic glazing applications to finish their work. Max: 8 attendees. |
LATIN STYLE DANCEDates: (6 weeks) January 21 – February 25, 2025 (makeup date if needed, March 4) When: Tuesday evenings, 6:45pm-7:30pm Guest Instructor: Mari Mattuchio Ages: Teens & Adults Cost: Members: $120; Non-members: $132 Learn one of the two basic and most popular Latin style dances, Merengue & Salsa. We will spend 3 weeks learning each dance in a fun and relaxed environment. No previous experience needed. Smooth sole shoes preferred but not required. Max. # of attendees: 10 |
FUN FAMILY DANCE (Parents & Kids grade 4+)(6 weeks) March 4-April 8, 2025 (makeup date if needed 4/15) When: Tuesday, 6:45pm-7:30pm Instructor: Abby Nolette Cost: Members $120 / Non-members $132.00 (fee per person) REGISTER HEREFun Family Dance: Kids (grades 4+ ) and their favorite caregivers are invited to dance together with us! Learn basic dance moves in various styles to create a fun upbeat routine with Miss Abby. * This class will have the option to be part of the recital. From fashion to home design, every creative industry starts with this essential tool. Inspiration boards bring ideas to life by curating images, colors, and materials to reflect trends, moods, or themes. Whether interpreting the clash of “classic” and “punk” in a garment or expressing a unique vision for a brand, this process defines a creative direction and acts as a roadmap for the design journey. In this class, you take the reins. Learn how to identify trends, blend contrasting ideas, and visually communicate your concept through a compelling inspiration board. You’ll gain practical skills to kickstart the creative process, whether for personal projects or professional pursuits. |

ART START (Parent & Child Creativity Class – Ages 2-4)Dates: (6 weeks) January 9 – February 13 (makeup if RTA cancels 2/27) When: Thursdays, 10am-11am Instructor: Satsi Schimelpfenig Cost: Members: $150; Non-members: $186 (all supplies included) This class presents an opportunity for toddlers and their guardians to create art together. You’ll be able to leave with projects and fun memories, without the mess for you to clean up in your own home! Projects will entail sensory elements and development of fine motor skills throughout painting, drawing, and gluing, as well as sculpting and glazing clay that we will fire in our kiln! This class is perfect for children ages 2-4. Max: 6 attendees. |
MAGICAL WINTER ARTS AND CRAFTS with Emily (Grades 2-5)Dates (4 weeks) January 9-January 30 (makeup date if RTA cancels 2/6) When: Thursdays, 3:30pm-5pm Instructor: Emily Bider Cost: Members: $120; $135: Non-members Come celebrate the magic of the Winter season in this enchanting and relaxing after school class series! Each class will center on a specific Winter theme – Snow, Spirit Animals, Winter Outdoor Activities, Keeping Warm and Winter Night Sky. Participants will be invited to explore a variety of visual art mediums such as wire, fabric, paint, beads, ribbons, clay, paper, etc. to create both 2D and 3D objects – paintings, sculptures, jewelry, accessories, etc. – to express their personal vision around the theme of the week! Think crystal beaded snowflakes, acrylic paintings of the night sky, cozy and warm hand-sewn pillows and clay spirit animals! Sure to be a very fun and meaningful experience for children! IMPROV FOR YOUNG ADULTS (Grades 9-12)Dates: (6 weeks) January 25 – March 1 (make up date if RTA cancels, March 8) When: Saturdays, 11am-1pm Cost: Members: $220; Non-members: $240 Instructor: Samuel Kuykendall An introductory course in improvisational acting for students… Do you or a teen you know have an interest in acting, improvisation, and/or comedy? Maybe you’re a fan of Whose Line is it Anyway?, Mock The week or the films of Christopher Guest. Learn the art of improvisational acting with instructor Samuel Kuykendall, leader of the infamous Yes & Co. In this 8 week series of 2-hour classes students will learn the fundamentals of improvisation and how to use those skills on and off stage. Learn how staying present, listening, and saying “yes, and” can lead to fun, engaging and hilarious situations. Each week Samuel will have students focus on a different facet of improvisation, using game-play from Day 1. Students will learn short-form, and long-form games with a little bit of music thrown in for good measure. By the conclusion of the course, each student will possess the skills needed to improvise and collaborate with others more thoughtfully and confidently. The class will conclude with a performance for friends and family on the final class date. |

ADULT CLASSES – MONDAYS
INTRODUCTION TO COLOR FUNDAMENTALSDates: (6 weeks) January 6 – February 10 (*this class runs on 1/20) (makeup if RTA cancels class, February 17) When: Monday mornings, 11am-2pm Cost: Members: $260; Non-members: $285 (*students provide their own supplies for this class) Instructor: Heather Lewis Whether drawing or painting, using colored pastels, pencils, or paint, learn the important properties of color and understand its far reach across a variety of color media and processes. Through studio exercises you’ll revisit color theory basics and then work from set ups to explore. Bring color and light into your winter! Students should pack a bag lunch. Max. # of attendees: 12 Suggested art materials: Students provide most of their supplies but RTA will also provide some: (Instructor’s note: The following materials will get you started, as we do a deep dive into color theory. In this first class, however, we will discuss other materials to explore and which of these RTA is able to provide – markers, acrylic paint, colored pencils, regular and water soluble, wax crayons, dry and oil pastels, and more. I will bring in examples and talk about where to buy materials locally and online).

Adult All Levels Yin Yoga with LeslieDates: Starting January 20th When: Monday evenings, 5:30pm – 6:30pm Instructor: Leslie Cargill Cost: One Day Passes & 5 session & 10 session punch cards available that include all class locations. Yin yoga is a beautiful practice focused on longer-held, more passive poses to open the body and allow greater flexibility, energy, and mobility, while offering a mindful and renewing experience on your mat. Leslie is a personal coach and yoga instructor. She brings 500+ hours of advanced training, years of teaching experience, and a personalized approach to helping people of all ages, abilities, and experience from complete beginners to advanced practitioners, those who consider themselves not flexible enough to do yoga, athletes, and those dealing with physical or emotional health issues. Leslie focuses on each student’s unique abilities, goals and needs. She encourages students to find a yoga practice that works for you and which is sustainable. |

ADULT BEGINNER MIXED MEDIA PAINTINGDates: (6 weeks) January 27 – March 10 (no class 2/17) When: Mondays, 6pm – 8pm Cost: Members: $200; Non-members: $225 (all supplies included) Instructor: Leah Payne Mixed media is the use of a variety of different materials in art making. This class will teach you the ins and outs of working with a multitude of different art media, such as acrylic paint, watercolor, gouache paint, colored pencil, and more. Each week will focus on different projects that utilize multiple materials, allowing students to learn and get comfortable with many materials they may not have had a chance to use before. This class will focus on two dimensional art making. Learn how to best combine materials for desired results, as well as learn fundamentals of art, such as composition, color theory, and different techniques for creating unique pieces of art. ADULT METALSMITHING – INTRO TO STONE SETTINGDates: (6 weeks) January 7 – February 11 (makeup date if RTA cancels class 2/25) When: Tuesday evenings, 6pm-8pm Instructor: Marrick Auger Cost: Members: $230; Non-members: $260 Join Marrick for an adult metal smithing class “Intro to Stone Setting”. Students will learn the basics of metal smithing, torch work and stone setting in a fun group environment.
