CREATIVE KIDS

Grades PreK – 2

This is a great after-school program to nurture your child’s creative side! We will experiment with a variety of materials and media to create unique and expressive works of art in a fun environment. Your child will have a blast… plus leave the mess with us!  $125 (RTA member $105)

 

DRAWING & PAINTING
for Middle Schoolers

Grades 6-8
MONDAYS, 2:30 – 4:30pm

If your teen/preteen loves to explore art, this class will spark their interest with our amazing instructor Heather Lewis. Heather teaches college art classes at YCCC and is bringing her fun spirit and true talents to River Tree! Students will build upon their skills from the first session. The first session is NOT required to enroll for this 2nd session. $178 (RTA members $162)

 

SEWING

Grades 1-5   
TUESDAYS, 3:30-5:30

Join us in the exciting lifelong skill of sewing in this class where students will learn how to operate a sewing machine, understand cutting, construction, and fabric choice basics. Students will leave class with a completed useful project or two. All sewing students are invited to participate in River Tree Art’s first Spring 2020 Fashion Show!  $148 (RTA member $128)

 

METALSMITHING

Grades 4 – 8
TUESDAYS, 3:30 – 5:30pm

Instructor: Alice Carroll
(6 weeks) January 7 – February 11

Work with metalsmithing tools to form, shape & create your own designs. Hammering and soldering will be the main focus of class. Each student will learn techniques to make their very own sculptures, pendants, bracelets, rings, pendants and more. Boys and girls are encouraged to take this class. * Students who have previously taken this class are encouraged to register again as projects vary with each session. 8 student maximum. $175 (RTA member $158) + $20 materials fee

 

JOURNALS, DIARIES & DOODLES

Grades 1-5
WEDNESDAYS, 3:30 – 5:30

Whether you already keep a journal or diary or are interested in starting one, this class will introduce you to a whole new world of how fun this art form can be. The instructor will inspire students with new prompts and techniques every week. This class is designed for both boys and girls.

Clay Club

Grades 6-12

Back by popular demand, Clay Club offers young artists the opportunity to explore their creativity while experiencing everything clay! Students will experiment with a variety of hand-building techniques as well as using the wheel. All projects will be fired in the kiln and students will learn basic glazing applications to finish the work that they create to cherish for years.  $160 (RTA member $140) + $20 materials fee

Wednesday, 12:30 – 3:30
Join us for early release Wednesdays, the first Wednesday of every month. Students will explore a variety of different art mediums.  $33 (RTA member $28)

Learn to Play UKULELE

Grades 2-5
THURSDAYS, 3:30 – 4:30
Instructor: Sam Smithwick
6 weeks (January 9 – February 13)

In this introductory course, students will learn all about Ukuleles! From learning how to identify parts of their ukulele, tuning their instruments, to playing traditional and contemporary ukulele songs. A great class for all abilities & a fun, relaxed way to learn a string instrument. NEW! Students can borrow a ukulele for the duration of the session, free of charge.  5 student maximum.  $110 (RTA member $95)

 

Toddler Time

River Tree Arts welcomes you to our new, weekly program: Toddler Time. Meet up with other moms (or caregivers) for some casual conversation while your little one enjoys musical instruments, puzzles, and casual crafts. This open play time is designed for caregivers to get to know one another and kids to have fun. This is a free event.

Fashion Design Workshop for kids

Monday, January 20, 10am – 3pm
Ages 7-12
Instructor: Georgia Renfroe

In this class, students will learn the basic skills of fashion design illustration and fabrication. Using a variety of sewing, art and recycle supplies, students will create their own unique fashion logo/line of fashion designs. Students will make one or two outfits and/or accessories. At the end of this workshop, students will present a fashion showcase or a runway show (2pm parents welcome).

Members: $58 (Non-Members: $66)
