ART START

CLAY CLUB (Mondays)

Back by popular demand, Clay Club offers young artists the opportunity to explore their creativity while experiencing everything clay! Students will experiment with a variety of hand-building techniques as well as using the wheel. All projects will be fired in the kiln and students will learn basic glazing applications to finish the work that they create to cherish for years. River Tree Arts Members: $125 / Non-Members $140 (plus $20 materials fee)

 

SEWING 

Grades 1-5   
TUESDAYS, 3:30-5:30

Join us in the exciting lifelong skill of sewing in this class where students will learn how to operate a sewing machine, understand cutting, construction, and fabric choice basics. Students will leave class with a completed useful project or two. All sewing students are invited to participate in River Tree Art’s first Spring 2020 Fashion Show!  $168 (RTA member $148)

 

METALSMITHING

Grades 4-8
TUESDAYS, 3:30 – 5:30pm

Work with metalsmithing tools to form, shape & create your own designs. Hammering and soldering will be the main focus of class. Each student will learn techniques to make their very own sculptures, pendants, bracelets, rings, pendants and more. Boys and girls are encouraged to take this class. * Students who have previously taken this class are encouraged to register again as projects vary with each session. 8 student maximum. LET’s DRAW! SUPERHEROES and CARTOONS

Grades 2 – 6
Wednesdays, 3:30 – 5pm

BOOM! BAM! KAPOW! During this 6-week session, students will learn valuable skills such as drawing human anatomy and musculature, story layout, scale, proportions, and tools that will help them to create superheroes and cartoons of their own. This class is an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of cartooning and illustration through fun projects that stimulate their imagination. River Tree Arts Members: $120 / Non-Members $138

Learn to Play UKULELE

Grades 2-5
THURSDAYS, 3:30 – 4:30

In this introductory course, students will learn all about Ukuleles! From learning how to identify parts of their ukulele, tuning their instruments, to playing traditional and contemporary ukulele songs. A great class for all abilities & a fun, relaxed way to learn a string instrument. NEW! Students can borrow a ukulele for the duration of the session, free of charge.  5 student maximum. $118 (RTA member $105)

Ever wonder if Batman shops at Hannaford? Or maybe Optimus Prime fights side by side with Spider-Man? Maybe YOU are the hero, and Superman is the sidekick? Join local illustrator Jefferson Coniaris as we take our favorite superhero/cartoon character(s) and draw them in a short comic strip of our own in this illustration workshop!

TODDLER TIME ANNOUNCEMENT
Thank you to all of those families who attended a Toddler Time program at River Tree Arts this winter. We had a great time getting to know you and your little ones. It was wonderful to see caregivers and kiddies interacting and making new friends.

With this recent streak of nice weather, our attendance has been low the past couple of weeks. We have decided to stop the Toddler Time program for now and offer it again in the late Fall/Early Winter. Thank you for joining us and we hope you and your little one enjoyed your visits to River Tree Arts!

Toddler Time will resume in Late Fall/ Early Winter 2020.
